A Charming Saga

I just love charm bracelets!  It all started when I was a little girl, probably around five years old.  My uncle gave me a charm bracelet.  He and my aunt traveled around the world, and they always brought back a charm for me, then my grandfather would solder it onto my bracelet.  I had wonderful charms ~ a whistle and scissors that really worked, a Christmas tree, and a crown that fit perfectly on my pinkie.  I got to wear the bracelet whenever I got dressed up.  It was wonderful!

As I got older, I "outgrew" my charm bracelet, even though it still fit around my wrist, and it wasn't long before it had a permanent spot in my jewelry box.

When my daughter was born, I remembered my charm bracelet and decided to start one for her.  I also decided to get my old charm bracelet out and start wearing it, so I looked high and low, but it was nowhere to be found.  Finally, I realized that it must have been in the old jewelry box that was stolen when our place was burglarized a few years before. Heartbreaking!

Not only did I start a charm bracelet for my daughter, but also a new one for me.  We get charms to celebrate places we go and things we do, all of the important stuff in our lives ~ our life bracelets.  And from there, I started a charm bracelet collection, with themes galore ~ Egyptian, shoes, purses, Mom stuff, and more.  My book club is even in on the action ~ we add a charm to our book club bracelets to commemorate each book we read.

Now, I hope to share my passion for charm bracelets with all of you.  So, start your collections ~ you'll love them all!  Your toughest decision will be deciding which to wear!  Enjoy!
